Mannai Corporation and its employees have responded to the emergency appeal issued by Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) to save the victims of the Nepal earthquake with a donation of QR 170,000.
The contribution was received by Mr. Saad bin Shaheen Al-Kaabi, Director of QRC Resources Mobilization Department, during a meeting at the Mannai Corporate headquarters, Salwa Road.
Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud, General Manager of Human Resources at Mannai Corporation, said, “We are very saddened by the devastation brought by this earthquake in Nepal. The massive impact of this calamity manifests itself not only on properties but most importantly on human lives.The commitment to communities is an essential part of our corporate values. In response to the needs created by this disaster, the Mannai employees and management collectively raised the funds in favor of the Nepalese people.”
On his part, Mr. Al-Kaabi stated, “I would like to express my deepest thanks to the officials and staff of Mannai Corporation for this generous donation for the victims of Nepal earthquake. This reflects their sense of humanitarianism and their belief in the cause of charitable and social organizations in Qatar. We in QRC hope that this noble strategy will continue from the company and that we enhance our mutual cooperation through a proposed partnership agreement to embody the company’s slogan: Your Trusted Partner.”
The severe earthquake that hit Nepal caused massive destruction of buildings and blockage of main roads. Millions were badly affected, including over two million in Kathmandu.
This donation will contribute to the relief efforts of QRC’s staff in Nepal. Currently, they are conducting an urgent intervention program that involves sheltering, food and nonfood assistance, water and sanitation services, health care, and other services in the most-affected regions.
Contribution to humanitarian relief operations has always been part of Mannai’s continuous initiative to support local and international communities, under the company’s corporate social responsibility program and social mission.
