Job Description:

The role is to conduct qualitative and quantitative experiments on chemical substances to ensure quality control or perform method validation prior to use in the lab. Conduct chemical, biological, and microbiological tests. Effectively collect samples and specimens.

1. Analysis of potable water, wastewater and environmental water in accordance with APHA and USEPA standards.Conduct necessary quality testing to ensure water meets WHO and KAHRAMAA standards requirements
2. Full awareness about water testing method such as: pH, Turbidity, Chloride, Sulphate, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Carbonate, Bicarbonate, Hardness, Alkalinity, Nitrite, Nitrate, Fluoride, and Heavy metals using ICP MS
3. Using ion chromatography IC for trace analysis of environmental soil, water samples and any material that can be digested into an aqueous matrix.
4. Environmental analysis as per USEPA and APHA standards
5. Preparing test solutions, compounds, and reagents for conducting tests and advising and coordinating test procedures.
6. Sampling and sample preparation as per relevant regional and International standards.
7. Ensures laboratory equipment and apparatus are calibrated and properly maintained.
8. Update results in control charts.
9. Runs quality control requirement of each test method being performed whenever applicable.
10. Perform testing requirements to support method development, modification, validation, or verification with or without supervision by senior staff or supervisor.
11. Maintains good housekeeping in his workplace.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry
2. Highly analytical in performing analysis of samples, Good knowledge about chemical and physical tests conducted in the laboratory, Ability to apply available good laboratory practices, including laboratory safety, Dedicated to furthering scientific knowledge and improving processes and products.
3. Knowledgeable in general QC techniques and ISO 17025 requirements.
4. Minimum of 2 Years of experience working in a Water testing laboratory or in an industrial laboratory.
